

Edward proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during both World War II and the Korean War. Following his military service, he worked for many years as a truck driver with Mobile Oil Company in Newburgh, New York, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.
A man who valued community and service, Edward was a longtime member of the Monell Engine Company in Washingtonville, New York, serving for over 25 years. He was also an active member of the Blooming Grove Seniors and the Woodbury Field and Stream club. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, passions that brought him great joy throughout his life.
Edward is survived by his loving son, Gary Smith of Chester, New York; his sister, Paula Smith of Scotia, New York; four grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom will cherish his memory.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Doris, and his son, Roger.
Edward will be remembered for his service, his dedication to family and community, and the quiet strength that defined his life.
