
Kenneth John “Kenny” Mari was born Oct. 14, 1947 to Joan and Dominic Mari. He was raised and educated in the Bronx. After high school he followed his in his father’s footsteps and enlisted in the United States Army in which he served from 1966 to 1968. He served in Vietnam with the First Infantry Division – The Big Red 1 – during which time he earned numerous decorations and promotion to Sergeant (E5) before being honorably discharged.
After his period of brave and honorable service, he settled in Dutchess County where he worked as a forklift operator for Georgia Pacific Paper Company as well as a nurse’s aide at the VA assisting other Veterans. His love of music, especially Doo-Wop, Motown, and Rhythm and Blues; led him to his own part-time business as a Disc Jockey.
Kenny was a kind-hearted, giving person; as well as a man of faith, and enjoyed spending contemplative time at the beautiful and serene grounds of Graymoor in Garrison, NY. He was an avid fisherman, and spent much time along the banks of the Hudson River. He enjoyed spending time with friends playing cards, chess and watching horse racing, football, and baseball.
A Graveside Service for Kenneth will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 US-9, Fishkill, NY 12524.
