Olaf G. Soon of South Blooming Grove, a welder for OSRAM, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus, Middletown. He was 82.

The son of Fredrick Soon and Heldegard Feldburg, he was born October 14, 1927 in Saaremaa, Estonia.

Olaf was an Army Combat Veteran, who was married to Barbara J. Doughty.

He was a loving father and grandfather, who is survived by two daughters, Laura A. and husband, Joseph Gomez of Bloomingburg and Linda M. and husband, John Prieto of New Hampton; grandchildren, Barbara and Alyssa Gomez; also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Ethel Trenga.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 28, from 3-6 p.m., at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St., Washingtonville.

Services will be held on Monday, March 29, at 10 a.m. at the Good Shephard Lutheran Church in Warwick. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Chester.
