Rachel Berrios, a resident of Goshen, NY, passed away on December 15th, 2022 at the age of 102. Rachel was born on June 19th, 1920 in San Juan, Puerto Rico to the late Reinaldo Paniaqua and Catalina Ballesteros. She worked for many years as an educational assistant for New York City Board of Education.
Rachel had a bright personality and always lit up a room. She knew how to gather people together and was well liked by all. She was known affectionately as “Nana” by her family.
Rachel is survived by her grandchildren, Dina Berrios, David Berrios, and Laurie and Thomas Lyons, John Maldonado, as well as a multitude of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brother, Robert Ballesteros, her children, Ruben Berrios and Rachel Cartagena, and her Grandson, Anthony Cartagena.
She was a kind, energetic woman and she will be greatly missed.
