Virginia Pinkowski

The daughter of Giacomo and Josephine D’Angelo, she was born in the Bronx and later grew up in Dumont, NJ.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Dumont, NJ, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting, NJ, St. Mary’s Church in Pompton Lakes, NJ, and active in the Rosary Society, and also a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Washingtonville.

Virginia was a Registered Nurse who graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic, NJ in 1938, and was later employed there for five years. She later worked in Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Lakes, NJ, for 23 years. She was a lifetime member of Deborah Hospital Volunteers in Brown Mill, NJ.

The widow of Henry Pinkowski, Virginia is survived by her daughter, Ginny and her husband, Bernd Neybold of Highland Mills; son, John and his wife, Diann Pinkowski of N. Caldwell, NJ; granddaughter, Lisa and husband, Michael Isseks of Washingtonville; grandson, Stephen and wife, Patricia Neybold of Campbell Hall; four great-grandchildren: Andrew and Alexa Neybold, and Arlene and Joseph Isseks; two sisters, Mary Ellen Wallace of Woodclift Lake, NJ, and Margie Ferreria of Fairlawn, NJ; one brother, August D’Angelo of Sparta, NJ; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by three sisters: Jennie Monaco, Louise Grazioso, and Philomenia Lanzana, as well as three brothers: Louis, William and Jack D’Angelo.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, January 13, at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St., Washingtonville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, January 14, at St. Mary’s Church in Washingtonville. Cremation will follow.
