William J. Mulherin (Bill), 89, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024 in Washingtonville, NY. Bill was born in Philadelphia, PA to William J. and Teresa (Remmers) Mulherin on July 12, 1935 and was a graduate of Williamson College of the Trades.
Bill had a fulfilling career working as a district regional manager for Benjamin Moore. After retiring, he loved to spend his time volunteering at Horton Hospital as a transporter, and delivering for Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed reading books, playing golf, and spending time with good friends. He and his wife Nancy loved to travel, and together have sailed across the world. During the cold months, you could find Bill lounging next to the pool in Palm Springs with the other snowbirds. There, he made many friends, sharing lifetimes of stories and adventures.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Nancy Calhoun Mulherin, his children Stephen Mulherin (Rhonda), Tracey Mulherin, and stepchildren Richard Calhoun (Itzel), Kathy Stegenga (John), and Glenn Calhoun (Meghan). He is also survived by his grandchildren Amanda, Alan (Jeanette) and Aidan, step-grandchildren Elizabeth, James, Margaret, Kaitlyn, Amelia, Cody, Anya, Niko, and brothers James Mulherin (Jean) and Joseph Caignon (Sandy). He leaves behind four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
Bill was predeceased by his first wife Ruth L. Mulherin, his beloved daughter Jill Caltabiano, his sister Irene Davis, and his half sister Margaret (Caignon) Reeves.
A visitation for William will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at David T Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY 10992. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 6:00 PM, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY 10992. A cremation will be private will occur.
