Yusuf Douglas Eugene Williams

Yusuf Douglas Eugene Williams, 40, a resident of Albany for the past five years, died in an accident on June 29, 2011 in New York City. He was born in Staten Island, NY on August 21, 1970. Yusuf was the son of Toni M. Morales (Freeman Williams) of Albany, NY and the late Philip H. Williams Sr. of Oakdale, CA. He was educated in Somers Central School District in Westchester County. A free spirit he left school after the 11th grade to travel the country. He earned a GED from the N.Y.S. Dept of Education. While criss-crossing the country he supported himself through various occupations. His last occupation was as a scrap metal worker. Besides his mother, Toni, Yusuf is survived by three brothers: Philip H. Williams Jr. and his wife, Sandra of Philadelphia, PA, Willis E. Williams II and his fiancée, Alicia Holmes, and Douglas I. Williams, all of Albany, NY; four sisters: Yaa Williams (Sisson), and Tuere Thea Gerard Williams of Albany, Dr. Ashura Williams Buckley and her husband, Dr. Sean Buckley of Bethesda, MD, and Minna Williams and her husband, Jeffrey King of Washington, DC. He is also survived by three nieces: Amy Sisson of Albany, Paige A. Buckley of Bethesda, MD and Adeline L. King of Washington, DC; one nephew, Stephen G. Buckley of Bethesda, MD; an uncle, two aunts, and several cousins. Yusuf was the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Douglas E. Earls of Washingtonville, the late Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Williams Sr. of Greenwood Lake, and the late Adeline T. Freeman of Albany. Yusuf enjoyed traveling, fishing and playing board games. A skilled Chess player and excellent skier he enjoyed nature walks and astronomy. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St., Washingtonville. A Service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. A private cremation will follow. Arrangements under the care of Thomas A.
