

1933 – 2016
Sidney – Cecile Lillian (LaRoche) Nadeau, 83, dearly loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away at her home on Friday, November 4, 2016 with her family surrounding her. Cecile was born the baby of twelve children on Oct. 18, 1933 in Saint Augustin Region Woburn, Quebec and raised in Waterville, Maine the daughter of Joseph and Celeda (LaPointe) LaRoche. She was educated at Mount Merici, Waterville Schools and later in life, in her 50s, received her GED. Cecile was married to the love of her life, Gerard Nadeau, for 59 years and raised six children.
She worked at C. F. Hathaway Company sewing shirts, off and on for many years to supplement their income during difficult times. They lived many places in Maine and New Hampshire before settling on the farm in Sidney, Maine. Cecile was very involved with St Theresa’s Catholic Church where she cleaned the church for 25 years, taught CCD on Saturdays and a member of St. Theresa's Guild, Ladies Auxiliary.
Creating a very warm and loving home for our family, this was her highest priority. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing, singing, camping, Blue Grass music, traveling and enjoying time with her family.
Cecile is predeceased by her husband, Gerard and daughter Coleen, and survived by one sister Jeannette, her children: Gerard and his wife Jane of Saco, Peter and his wife Venita of Sidney, Darryl and his wife Nikole of Sidney, Lee of Sidney, Joyce Fisher and her husband Tedd of Sidney, and Alan and his wife Paula of Belgrade; eight grandchildren: Monique, Travis, Julie, Michelle, Emily, Garrett, Evan and Alex and six great grandchildren: Xavier, Takoma, Ella, Oliver, Hudson and Grayson.
The family would like to express special appreciation to the Hospice team and Dr. Cathy Nielson for comfort, kindness and support for our mother.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday November 13, 2016 from 5 – 7 pm at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street, Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday November 14 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Maronite Catholic Church, 3 Appleton Street, Waterville with Fr. Larry Jensen officiating. Burial will follow in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 78 Grove Street, Waterville.
