Westbrook – Daniel J. Pelotte, 64, formerly of Benton, Maine passed away at Springbrook Center, after a long struggle with Lyme Disease, with loving family immediately by his side with special visits by other family and friends. Dan was born in Waterville, Maine on April 19, 1949 a son of the Late John T. and Bertha Marie (Gauvin) Pelotte. He attended Lawrence High School and later received his degree in carpentry from Southern Maine Vocational School. Dan worked for 32 years at Sappi Fine Paper as a Building Trades Supervisor before retiring in 2006.
Dan was a family oriented person enjoying many trips to Bar Harbor and Boothbay Harbor along with many family gatherings. Dan was very active in the lives of many special relatives; Liam and Griffin Pelotte, Dawson Moore and Kassidy Dixon, attending their sporting events and accompanying them on many special adventures to the movie theater. Together they all had a wonderful bond that has an everlasting effect on all of their lives. Dan took pride in his vehicles especially his Corvettes. He enjoyed woodworking and could often be found in his shop building furniture and other novelties. Dan loved sports particularly the NFL, NBA, and MLB.

-Special Thanks-
Daniel’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who cared for Dan during this difficult time: Lakewood Continuing Care Center in Waterville, Maine Medical Center in Portland, Springbrook Center in Westbrook and Southern Maine Hospice, for the loving and compassionate care for Dan and the support provided to his family. Dan touched the hearts of many who directly cared for him over the past months including his direct care staff: CNA’s, nurses and doctors. He created many friendships throughout his journey. We would also like to thank Fr. Reggie of St. Anthony’s Parish for providing Dan with the sacrament of the sick and extend a very special acknowledgement of Uncle Bert for taking over care of Dan’s beloved friend and companion Mr. Buttons.
Dan lived a rich and fulfilling life and will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
