

Winslow – James Andrew Veilleux, 80, of Winslow was called to the Lord on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Fairfield, November 30, 1931. He was educated in local schools and worked for over 41 years at Scott Paper Company. James had many things he enjoyed including bowling, horseshoes, gardening, country and gospel music, playing cards, family picnics and outings. He was a lifetime member of the Waterville Elks Lodge #905, a Third Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, the Calumet Club and served on the Board of Directors of KSW Credit Union. James was treasurer of the Local 431, past president of the Prime Timers Bowling League, Winslow Youth Hockey and Winslow Little League. He was also active in Babe Ruth Baseball and a former Eucharistic Minister of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
James was predeceased by four siblings, Frances Dugal, Marie Perry, Donald Vigue and Ursula Voisine.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years Paula (Bujold) Veilleux of Winslow; six children, David Veilleux of Dover, NH, Dana Veilleux of Somersworth, NH, Michelle Vigue and her husband Michael of North Waterboro, Alan Veilleux and his wife Joanna of Winslow, Lee Veilleux and his wife Stacy of Buxton, and Eileen Veilleux of Westbrook; nine grandchildren Thomas, Melissa, Nicholas, Danielle, Brianna, Desiree, Mitchell, Dylan, and Taylor; two brothers, George Vigue and his wife Lorraine of Winslow and Maurice Vigue of Fairfield, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 15 at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St, Waterville. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m., Friday, March 16 at St. John the Baptist Church, Winslow.
