Ken was born in Waterville, Me, on November 22, 1949 a son of Leo and Yvette Carey. He was a graduate of the Winslow H.S. Class of 1968, where he played baseball, basketball and football and was also voted "Most Fun to be Around." Following High School he attended Thomas College where he earned an associates degree in business. He then went on to serve in the Maine National Guard. He was a salesman for the majority of his life, worked several places and made lots of friends along the way. He spent the happiest years of his career working as sales manager at Harris Baking Company in Waterville.
Ken was an avid baseball, basketball and football fan. During football season he spent Saturdays and Sundays watching Notre Dame and the Patriots. He looked forward to every baseball season and was a devoted Yankees fan. He traveled to Fenway Park many times to see the Yankees - Red Sox rivalry first hand. It is only fitting the he passed while the Yankees are the reigning World Series Champions. He had many great memories of coaching little league when his son was growing up. He always looked forward to the time spent with family and friends during summertime family gatherings and barbeques.
He is survived by his daughter Kendra and her son Ethan, who resided with him. His only grandchild was very special to him and was consistently the topic of conversation. He is also survived by his son Ben and his girlfriend Amanda, his brother Gerard and fiancee Elizabeth, and his two children Alex and Taylor. He is also survived by his oldest, dearest friends, Georgeanna Carey and her significant other David, and Luxy Leclair and his wife Marie, as well as many special aunts, cousins and friends.
His family would like to thank Maine General Medical Center and all of the Doctors, nurses and staff for their help and support. They would like to give a special "Thank You" to Dr. Ali, Dr. Saletta, and nurse Kim of 3-North.
Ken's advice, insight, quick wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed by many.
