He was born in Ft. Kent, Maine, December 19, 1954, a son of the late Patrick Gordon and Nellie Marie (Voisine) Dempsey and moved to the Waterville area at the age of 2. He attended local high schools.
Patrick went on to do a variety of work including electrical, painting, plumbing, carpentry and basically any kind of work that involved using your hands but most of a he was the #1 Mechanic for many. Patrick was a big fan of auto racing especially NASCAR, where he could tell you more than you ever thought you could know about any driver; particularly Dale Earnhardt's Sr. & Jr., and was an accomplished race car driver himself. He will be remembered for his loving and caring heart, Patrick would always, undevotedly, put others before himself and for being a great son, brother, and father.
Patrick is survived by his children; Patrick and Derrick and his significant other Loren Frost who are expecting Patrick’s first grandchild in December of 2011, siblings; Bernadette Paradis, Danny Dempsey, Thelma Perry, Karen Elliott, and Gayle Workman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews’ cousins, and friends whom all loved Patrick.
Special thanks go out to all of the hospice volunteers and staff at the Harold Alfond Cancer Center for their love and support during this difficult time.
Visitation will be held at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street, Waterville on Wednesday August 17 from 2-4 & 6-8. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Pleasant Street, Waterville on Thursday at 11AM.
