

He was born in Waterville on April 3, 1942; a son to Marcia (Downing) Soule & also raised by Ralph Fitch. Ron graduated from Waterville High School Class of 1960, after graduation he joined the United States Air Force. Ronald served in the Air Force from 1961 to 1965; stationed at Otis AFB in Cape Cod, MA, he then entered the Air National Guard in Bangor where he served from 1972 to 1989; he retired as a TSGT-E6 and had 21 years of total service.
Ron worked for Scott Paper Co. until he was transferred to S.D. Warren where he retired from after 37 years. He also worked part time for Motor Supply.
Ron was a member of the American Legion Post #5, an active communicant of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and served on the Credit Committee at Taconet Credit Union for many years, he also volunteered for The Sunshine Cluba support group for the blind & visually impaired, Ron greatly enjoyed time spent with his family and friends; especially his grandchildren, He loved to attend their sporting events, band concerts and dance recitals. Ron’s hobbies were traveling, fishing, hunting and camping as well as watching sports on T.V., He was an avid NASCAR fan. His big, warm heart and infectious smile will be fondly remembered by all. He lived and believed in his favorite saying “Take one day at a time.”
Ronald is survived by his loving wife Betty Jane (Nadeau) Soule, They wed on September 15, 1962. His three children; Stephen M. Soule of Ashville, NC, Shelly Soule Frost and husband James of Milford, NH, Sherry A. (Soule) Berard and husband Ronnie of Winslow, 9 grandchildren; Stephanie, Danielle, Emily, Kendall, and Rhett Soule, Trevor, and Shawnna Frost, Adam and Alex Berard, a sister Barbara Paddock, God-children; Timothy Bolduc, Lauren Hendrick and Renee Dow, a brother in law Marvin Bolduc, his 2 Siamese cats and special friends - Syd-nee and Baby Girl. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and several dear friends who are like family.
Ronald was predeceased by his parents; his father & mother in-law; Norman & Eleanor Nadeau, a granddaughter Haley Berard, and 3 sisters; Marilyn “Molly” Lane, Winifred “Winnie” Giroux and Mildred “Mickey” Michaud.
Ronald and his entire family would like to thank all the health workers for their loving care over the past several years, also the rescue and emergency responders who came to his call. Special thanks to his doctors and their staff, Dr. Enrique Rivas, Theresa Jacque FNP-C, and Dr. Michael Saletta for their special attention to his well-being, Also David McDermott at Waterville Home Oxygen.
Visitation will be held at Veilleux Funeral Home on Monday, July 16, 2012 from 5 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 11 am, committal to follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
