

Steve was born in Waterville on January 30, 1954; a son of Charles and Norma King. He graduated from Waterville High School Class of 1972; then joined the United States Air Force and served for Four Years. After his military discharge Steve went on to further his education and became a college graduate earning his Bachelor’s Degree from University of Maine at Augusta. Steve worked for many years at New Balance Shoe factory as a Resource Manager.
Steve was a very loving and devoted father, grandfather, son and brother; as well as a very loyal and trustworthy friend. He enjoyed donating his time to the Boys and Girls Club. He was active in coaching his sons youth sports, an avid outdoorsman; greatly enjoying fishing, hunting and vegetable gardening. Steve also enjoyed his two loyal companions; yellow labs; Jaks and Tank.
Steve is survived by his two loving children; daughter Jodi Namer and husband Nick, son; Kory King, two grandchildren; Kingston and Kali Namer, former wife of 33 years Alice King, his mother, Norma King, two sisters; Jan Welch and husband Rusty, Linda Mitchell and husband Norman, a brother, Mike King, his two best friends; Danny Proulx and Marc DeRocher, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Steve was predeceased by his father Charles L. King.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 11 am, with a luncheon to follow in the parish hall. A private burial will take place at a later date at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
