Though I didn't know Brian I knew Brad through high school and my prayers are with everyone in the Woehlke family.  We will always remember the sacrifice Brian made helping others.

I was raised in Wayne and attended services there in Westland for years.My families thoughts and prayers go out to this young young man and his family.May he rest in peace and an angel look over his wife and child.

The Wayne-Westland community is deeply saddened by the loss of one of our young firefighters. Firefighter Brian Woehlke, 29 lost his life fighting a fire at Marvaso's Restaurant and The Electric Stick billiard hall. 

Brian left behind his wife and a young daughter. 

Our hearts are broken at the loss of this courageous young first responder and our prayers are with his family. May God Bless his soul and give his family comfort at this incredibly difficult time. 

It is so sad to think that when Brian last left home, it's almost certain he and his family thought it would be another typical day or week. 

Our first responders need our support and prayers for being willing to rush into harms way to protect us. Brian was the first firefighter lost in the line of duty in the history of Wayne or Westland. Hopefully the last.

As Brian is mourned and laid to rest, let us not forget the hero he was during his short time here on earth.

I was very saddened to learn of Brian's death and my heart aches for his family and fellow firefighters.  You don't know me but my father, Tom Posler, transferred from the Wayne FD to the Westland FD 47 years ago.  We firefighter families share each others pain because we are one big close knit family.  May Brian rest in peace.
