Kevin was a proud graduate of Marcellus High School, Class of 1975. Following graduation, he honorably served his country in the United States Navy as a sonar specialist. After completing his military service, Kevin dedicated over 30 years to working in security until he was forced to medically retire.
Kevin had a deep love for life and adventure. He enjoyed traveling the world, especially on cruises and family vacations, creating lasting memories with those he loved. He had a special passion for horses and was an excellent rider who competed in horse shows, a love he proudly passed down to his children.
A devoted family man, Kevin treasured time spent with his loved ones. He especially enjoyed family game nights, where laughter was shared over pinball, chess, Monopoly, bingo, and Clue. He also found joy in simple pleasures like playing solitaire, bowling, and occasional fishing trips.
Kevin is survived by his loving children: Joseph (Heather) Matthews, Mary (Kenneth) Manley, and Benjamen Matthews; his cherished grandson, Wyatt Manley; and a granddaughter on the way, Lillian Manley. He is also survived by his brother, Stanley Matthews (Ted Sabley).
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, JoAnn Matthews, who passed away on April 13, 2022, as well as his parents and grandparents.
Kevin will be remembered for his strength, dedication, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he created.
Military honors and prayers will be held on April 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442.
