

Patricia Joyce Cogar (nee Davidson) was born in New York to Colonel and Mary Davidson on July 4, 1939. She was the eldest of four children. After a very short battle with cancer, she died peacefully in her sleep in her Ypsilanti, Michigan home on June 22, 2014, at the age of 74.
Pat spent her early childhood in Kentucky before the family moved to Michigan. She married Eli Samuel Cogar and they had four children. After divorce and retirement, she spent several years in Georgia with her daughter’s family before returning to Michigan. She most enjoyed spending time with her family, keeping her own house and taking care of her pets.
Pat is survived by her sister Betty (Barry) Morrison, and children Duane (Debra) Cogar, David (Sharon Gomez) Cogar, Deborah (Elliott) Diaz, and Carl (Anna) Cogar. She was the beloved grandmother of John (Becky) Dearry, Crystal Daly, Jeremy Cogar, Rachel Cogar, Sarah Cogar, Erika (Mike) Cabrera, and Leah (Drew) Thompson. Pat was also an adoring great-grandmother to Briggs and Ridley Dearry, Brendan, Kaela and Ashlyn Daly, Jeramiah Cogar, Sebastian and Genevieve Cabrera, and Andrew, Samantha, and Madilyn Thompson. She will be dearly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends as well.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Rosemary (Warner) Hendricks, and her brother, Robert Davidson.
