Alice May Evans

Born May 7, 1915 in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late Frederick Jacob and Bertha Amelia (Loesch) Class.

Mrs. Evans was a member of Bethany Trinity Lutheran Church, Waynesboro. Alice was employed by Western Union where she was a manager over several branches in the Philadelphia area for 35 faithful years until her retirement. In her younger years, she was an active member of the LWML at church and swam with the Happy Ducks at the Waynesboro YMCA. She will be missed by those who knew her as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Evans, Jr.; son, Charles J. Evans; brother, James Creighton Class.

Survivors include her two daughters, Susan Browning and husband, John of Waynesboro and Barbara Krum and husband, Richard of Camarillo, CA; grandchildren, John Browning, III and wife, Laura of MI, Rev. Richard Browning and wife, Tina of FL, Lt. Col. Charles David Browning and wife, Mary Faye of Staunton, Rev. Jeffrey S. Browning and wife, Amber of NY, Laura Priebe and husband, John of IN, Richard Krum, Jr. and wife, Tiffany of CA and Valerie Krum of CA; 16 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Bethany Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Tim Bohlmann officiating, along with her two grandsons, Pastor Richard Browning and Pastor Jeffrey S. Browning.
