Andy was born in Waynesboro to Peggy and Jay Fletcher on March 16th, 1953. He was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School and proudly remained in the area for his entire life. He retired as a Deputy Sheriff for the Waynesboro Sheriff’s Office after 17 years of service. Prior to that, he spent many years singing and touring as a member of The Wayside Gospel Singers. He was involved with the Wayside Baptist Church for much of his life. Andy enjoyed riding his Harley, westerns, meals with family and friends, and the comfort of his cowboy boots.
Andy was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Fletcher (née Ross); father, Jay Fletcher; first wife, Juanita Fletcher (née McCauley); grandson, Joshua Shackelford; and his “little buddy” and beloved family dog, Boo.
Andy is survived by his wife of 21 years, Louise Fletcher; step-daughter, Christina Monioudis (Chris); step-son, Warren Allen; sister, Tracie Spears (Gary); brothers, Ross Fletcher (Sandy) and Scott Fletcher; the light of his life--granddaughter, Elliott Monioudis; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be conducted on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at his home, wherein his family invites those who knew him to gather in remembrance.
In lieu of flowers or memorials, his family asks for donations to be made in his name to the Waynesboro Sheriff’s Office. Andy’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the first responders with the Waynesboro First Aid Crew and Waynesboro Police Department.
