She was born on November 8, 1941 in Virginia to the late Miley Eugene and Lottie Virginia Reed.
Ms. Ross was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church of Stuarts Draft.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers, Johnny ,Guy, Ray, and Sonny Reed; five sisters, Janet Reed, Ann Reed, Helen Quick, Mary Forbes and Catherine Rodgers.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet Mayo of Staunton, Va.; sister, Brenda Conner of Waynesboro, Va.; brother, Charles William Reed of Lyndhurst, Va.; Aunt, Elizabeth Brooks of Stuarts Draft; a special grandson, Timothy Eugene Mayo II; and a host of nieces and nephews. Ms. Ross also leaves behind her K-9 companions Ginger and Molly.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Rev. Dennis Bradley officiating. The family will receive friends from 2: 00 PM until 3:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home
