Blanche L. "Dittie" Snyder

Born April 15, 1947 in Elmer, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Parker and Myrtle (Meyers) Price. On October 16, 1965 she married the love of her life, Louis “Lou” Snyder. The two shared a blessed union of 48 years together. In 1980 they moved their family from Mickleton, NJ to Lovingston, VA and lastly to Lyndhurst, VA. She has made Virginia her home the past 34 years.

Those who knew “Dittie” knew how much she loved her family and enjoyed her home. She served as a second mom to most kids in the neighborhood and always had fresh cookies for them after school. Besides being very family oriented, she enjoyed singing, cooking and gardening, especially her roses.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Ray, Jimmy and Sammie Price.

In addition to her loving husband, survivors include her children, Kim Mays of Waynesboro, Sandy Snyder of Bedford, VA, Jim Snyder and wife, Debi of Greenville and Ronnie Snyder of Waynesboro; siblings, Rosemary D’Agostino and husband, Joe of Bridgeton, NJ, Millie Rozzelle of Williamstown, NJ and Carl Price and wife, Linda of Swedesboro, NJ; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Riverview Cemetery. Friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
