Brenda Joyce Bell

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Velma (Griffin) Fitzgerald and William Fitzgerald, as well as her sister, Susie Burdette.

She was deeply loved by her family and will be fondly remembered by her brother, Bucky Fitzgerald; her sister-in-law, Sharon Fitzgerald; her son, Steve Fitzgerald; her granddaughter, Ashley Fitzgerald; and her beloved cousin, Amy Brooks Griffin.

Brenda dedicated 30 years of her life to working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), retiring in 2016. In addition to her professional career, she devoted her time to volunteering as an end-of-life caregiver, continuing her lifelong commitment to serving others.

Brenda found great joy in caring for those around her, whether they were family members or strangers. Her compassion, generosity, and unwavering dedication to helping others defined her life and left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

At this time, no services are planned, in accordance with Brenda’s wishes. The family asks that, in lieu of memorials, she be remembered for her fiery spirit, her willingness to serve, her devotion to caregiving, and her enduring desire to help others.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to Augusta Health and the Shenandoah Hospice House for the exceptional comfort and care provided to Brenda at the end of her life.
