 Obituario de Candice Dawn Shiflett
Candice Dawn Shiflett of Waynesboro, VA Born August 3rd 1972 passed away at Augusta Health November 24, 2021 after a long battle with COVID. She was preceded in death by her father James “Eddie” Wagner and step father James “Keith” Bosseman and her grandparents Corene and James Wagner. She is survived by her mother Patty Lavon Baker, her fiancé Jon Gilmer; one sister Sabrina Thornton; three children Miranda Clark, Reilly Shiflett and Bryce Shiflett; three grandchildren Elijah Clark, Isaiah Clark-Eddith and RaeLynn Shiflett. Two nieces Ashley Adkins and Haidyn Thornton; two nephews Hunter Morris and Ty Thornton; one great nephew Bentley Dameron; one great niece Avery Stone; numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and close family and friends. Candy had the biggest heart and her family was the most important part of her life. Holidays were especially special to her, she enjoyed having family around her as much as she could. From yearly traditions, cooking all important holiday meals, never missing any moments in the lives of her children, grandchildren, fiancé, and every other family member. She was always there. You could always count on her, even if it meant she’d be 30 minutes late. Fashionably of course. She really lit up a room, from makeup tutorials and fashion TikToks; she always shined. Growing up, she loved 80s music and movies and will be remembered for her days at Skatetown, where she met most of her closest friends. The way she could tell stories about her life and moments could make you feel like you were there too. She was so talented and artistic even though she swore she wasn't. She wrote poems and children’s stories, in hopes that she could have her daughter illustrate and one day her art could be published. She grew up to have a love for photography and fell in love with scrapbooking. She made sure to teach her children that pictures are so important. Her voice was beautiful, and we’ll never forget her signature songs: You and me against the world (a special song sang to her as a baby), Strawberry Wine, Black Velvet, The Rose, and Girl Crush. She always made sure to sing, whether it be at a wedding, with a band or during karaoke night. She was an active member of the Moose Lodge, where she spent a lot of her time. Making sure to swim all summer with her children and grandchildren, watching her son during soap box derby, and showing up to every karaoke night. She enjoyed watching her daughters, nieces, and even her son, be involved/win pageant titles, and never missed a moment during cheer or wrestling as we grew up. She even coached and made cheer routines. Candy had reconnected with her now fiancé Jon and was so happy and loved. They really understood each other and brought out a good, fun, crazy side in both of them. She even learned to shoot a bow so she could enjoy Jon’s passions and he always tagged along with her to every band and outing she wanted to go to. She loved their animals and considered them to be her babies, and treated them as such. She was a dedicated parent, lover, daughter, animal mom and friend. She made sure to show up, for family’s 5k awareness walks, every birthday, holiday, and she always made sure her mom had anything needed and always got her out and about. She and her mom were best friends, as she was with her children. She had so many dreams for her children and she always pushed us to be the best and happiest we could be. She taught us strength, independence, confidence, and unconditional love. We lost her at the young age of 49, and we will never forget her yelling at all her family that she expected a huge 50th birthday party, and it would've been. She will be truly missed, as we still can't believe this tragedy. She was taken from us so early and there were so many things on her bucket list. She would want us to celebrate her and always remember her spirit. Her full of life, loud, artistic, loving personality. Candice will be celebrated on Thursday Dec. 9th, At the Moose Lodge in Waynesboro, VA starting at 6pm. Feel free to reach out to her immediate family if you would like to help. As well, Flowers and donations can be made to two foundations she held dear to her heart. www.Cff.org or 7202 Glen forest Dr. #102, Richmond, VA 23226 www.afsp.org or AFSP Virginia, P.O.
