Carol Murphy (Cason) Jones

Carol Murphy (Cason) Jones, 68, of Fishersville, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Augusta Health. She was born in Staunton on November 26, 1948, and was the daughter of the late George Vernon and Isabelle Frances (Lucas) Cason.

Carol worked as a caregiver most her life. She enjoyed grocery shopping and attending Yard Sales. Her pantry and fridge would always full of food to serve people when they came to her home. Carol was an avid collector of all things, but specially dolls and cookie jars. She will be remembered for her always loving and giving heart.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 28 years, Steven Larry Jones; daughters, Tina Gorden, Beth Clemmer, and Tabatha Cox; her favorite brother, Thomas Cason; as well as her additional siblings, Larry Cason, Sammy Cason, Jimmy Cason, Louise Vecellio, and Joyce Rosen; grandchildren, Jeffrey Chaplin, Keslie Grubb, Eerie Dilley, Emily Cox, Christian Dilley, Junior and Bubby; special nieces, Misty Collins and Amy Drumheller; as well as numerous extended family.

Carol will also be missed by her dear friends and neighbors, Barbara Foote, Mrs. Painter, Billy Chaplin, Ronnie Cox, Scott Hanger, and Dr. Lynn Moore; as well as Carol’s four legged friends.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Carol’s memory to your local SPCA.

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Lynn Moore and his staff and the staff at Augusta Health ICU.
