Born December 11, 1946 in Rome, NY, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Florence (Rockway) House.
Carrie attended Midway Bible Baptist Church, Fishersville. She owned and operated C & C Towing in Lyndhurst, Va and previously worked at G.E. and later retired from Target Distribution. Carrie’s work ethic led her to always being a devoted employee. She will be remembered as a dedicated mother, a loving grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl D. Hudson; sisters, Martha Robinson of NY, Jean King of CT, Janet Warcup of NY and Nancy House of NY; and brothers, Walter House of TX, Vernon House of NY, David House of NY and Floyd House of NY.
Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Helmick of Waynesboro; son, Ronnie Hudson and wife, Chris of Stuarts Draft; daughter, Debbie Claytor of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Kristy Wheeler and husband, Wayne, Carl Claytor and Ellen Claytor; several great grandchildren; sisters, Faith House of NY, Hope Lettieri of FL and Joy Frye of Va; brother, Marvin House of AZ; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Rodes United Methodist Church Cemetery, Afton, with Pastor Richard Owen officiating. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
