Ceil Mathews

Mrs. Mathews was born on December 6, 1935 in New York, New York and was a daughter of the late German and America Morales Rieckehoff. She was the office manager of Corning Ware for many years, prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Moose and Wilson Volunteer Fire Department. She loved crafts, collecting antiques, playing bingo and taking trips to the casino.

On May 27, 1956 she married Richard Mathews who preceded her in death in 2010.

Ceil is survived by three sons, Rick Mathews, Jr., and his wife Karin of Princeton, NJ, Mark Mathews and wife Karen of Lyndhurst, Kevin Mathews and wife Alycia of Stuarts Draft; a daughter, Allison Fitzgerald and husband Daniel of Franklin, GA; a sister, Laura Robinson and husband Ted of Connecticut; twelve grandchildren, Tony Mathews, Lisa Mathews, Ricky Mathews, Jason Mathews, Casey Mathews, Corey Mathews, Tyler Fitzgerald, Jordan Fitzgerald, Ryan Mathews, Lilly Mathews, Shay Mathews, Carly Mathews; four great-grandchildren, Nadia Mathews, Analise Mathews, Jeremiah Mathews, and Cameron Mathews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Riverview Cemetery with Deacon Dave Russell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wilson Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 157, Lyndhurst, VA 22952.
