

Born February 28, 1949 in Waynesboro, he was a son of the late Dennis Main and Lois Gertrude (Harris) Pugh.
Dennis was a dedicated employee of Wayn-Tex Inc., where he worked faithfully as a mechanic until his retirement. A proud graduate of Waynesboro High School’s Class of 1968, he was also a member of the school’s football team. He had a deep love for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Dennis also enjoyed boating and, in his younger years, playing tennis. On Sundays, he could often be found cheering on Dale Earnhardt while watching NASCAR races. He had a passion for collecting knives. A man of faith, he was a member of Fishersville Baptist Church and also attended Crossroads Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dinah Rhea (Wheeler) Pugh.
Survivors include his loving wife, Faye (Ramsay) Pugh of Waynesboro; son, Aaron Dwayne Pugh and wife, Julie, of Front Royal, VA; daughter, Candace Pugh and husband, Joshua Branch, of Stuarts Draft; step-daughter, Jamell Roberts and husband, Timmy, of Stuarts Draft; step-sons, Travis Painter of Waynesboro and Joshua Kent Painter and wife, Kate, of Staunton; grandchildren, Bryan Pugh, Jeremy Pugh, Serenity Simmons, Willow Branch, Liam Branch, Elijah Pugh, Brei Grove and Ivy Painter; great-grandson, Samuel Floyd; sisters, Rosa Lee Guillette of Essex Junction, VT, Janet Harris and husband, Ronnie Viers, of Staunton, Carolyn Haynes of Waynesboro, and Sherry Weatherholtz and husband, Gary, of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Riverview Cemetery, 420 Rosser Ave., Waynesboro with Pastor John Hash officiating. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Richard Marsh, Wayne Price, Ronnie Viers, Clayton Painter, Josh Branch, Travis Painter, and Tristan Painter.
