Dorothy Louise (Raines) Kestner

Born July 6, 1926 in Richmond, VA she was the daughter of the late John Raines and Florence (Shifflett) Raines.

Prior to retirement, Dorothy was employed at Roses Department Store where she worked as a sales clerk. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Emory Homer Kestner, Sr.; and 12 siblings.

Survivors include her four children, Emory Homer “Denny” Kestner, Jr. and wife, Barbara of Faber, VA, Jerry Kester of Crimora, Larry Kestner and wife, Dawn of Stuarts Draft, and Pam Kestner of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Andrew Kestner, Heather Folk, Michael Kestner, Brandi Thompson, Ryan Leonard, Jason Leonard, Michael Leonard, Kayln Mays, Melissa Andrews, Luke Hensley, and Sarah Whitley; 21 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro with Pastor Roscoe Harris. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Due to COVID-19, facemasks and social distancing will be required.

There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
