

He was born October 24,1951 a son of the late Harvey Russell Fitzgerald and Marion Elizabeth (Atkins) Hall.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Fitzgerald and a sister Diane Painter.
Gary lived a life defined by hard work, unwavering love for his family, and a deep connection to his community.
Gary spent his life in Waynesboro, where he built both a successful business and a life of meaning. He was known in his community as a steady presence and a loyal friend. Whether through his work, his hobbies, or simply the conversations he shared over the years, Gary left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
Outside of work, Gary found joy in the outdoors. He was an avid hunter who cherished time spent in the woods, whether alone or with close friends and family. He also enjoyed quite mornings, a good cup of coffee, and the simple things in life that brought him peace.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Fitzgerald; children, Kallee Fitzgerald, Bryce Fitzgerald, Alexis Fitzgerald, Chace Fitzgerald; two daughters from a previous marriage, Chasity Feilds, Jennifer Shand; brother, Steve and wife Cheryl, Tommy and wife Dana; sisters, Vicky Lam, Lisa Phillips and husband Marvin and Beth Fitzgerald Hanger.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025 where we celebrate his life and the memories he created at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Rev. Bill McCaskill officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at the funeral home
He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of his company. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love he gave so freely.
