Marsha, we are sorry to hear of Glenn's passing. We are praying for u and the family that u may find peace and comfort in this time of sadness and loss. 

Glenn was a much appreciated contributing member of the Elks Lodge in Waynesboro. I feel very fortunate to have had his friendship. I certainly will miss him.

Marsha and family, I'm so sorry to hear about Glenn's passing. He was my first supervisor there, and was also the first manager that I followed. He taught me so much about how to do things, what to be aware of, and how to treat people. We had some great times at work, as well as a few disagreements, but that's the way it goes. He always put it behind him and we always were able to work through things. We're going to miss him. He was a good person and a great coworker. I'm sure he and Charlie are up there looking down and having a blast! Rest in Peace, Glenn!

I always enjoyed working for Glenn as one of my first supervisors at Hershey Chocolate of Va. He went by the rules, but that’s how you learned.  He loved working for Hershey and always wanted to please them. He spoke of his family a lot.

It has been just over 10 years since I saw Mr. Dean. The last few times we spoke, he asked good questions, provided life insights, and gave me credit for where I was heading in my life. This man made the best french onion soup on the planet!

I worked for Glenn at Hershey and had a great deal of respect for him and to me he was the best manager Hershey has ever had and it was sad the day he left and he valued his employees. Sure there were disagreements but he never held a grudge and would always come check on you right afterwards. He was fun to kid around with and could make you laugh! He will be missed by many!

Marsha and family.  Nancy and I are so sorry to hear of Glens passing.  He was a great mentor and later great friend that I and many like me will have incredible memories of in  times at work some of the most fun outings I will ever have the privilege to have been a part of.  A genuine southern gentleman and the epitome of the good ole boy friend. Glen is the kind of people our plant was built on.  May God hold his family close.

Glenn was one of my first supervisors at Hershey. He treated me fairly and with great respect. He was one of the best supervisors I have ever worked for. I became a supervisor 2002. Glenn was my “go to” mentor. He was always there to give me advice when I asked.
I once went with him to Atlantic City. He wouldn’t let me pay for anything. One of many great memories he leaves me.  You will be missed. 

Glen and I became friends while working together at Hershey.  We shared many hours working on problems at the plant as well as a few beers along the way. I could trust Glen to give me his thoughts and ideas , even if some times I didn't want him to. Glen cared very much about his job and even more about the people he worked with. 
   Glen was a man you could trust to do the right thing and he will be missed by many. I know I will.

Charles {now deceased} and myself are saddened to hear of Glenn's passing.  Charles worked with Glenn for 20 years at Hershey also as a supervisor.   We spent many  good times together. Charles and he worked Bingo at the Elks for several years.  Christmas breakfast every year at Christmas.  Visiting after retirement.  Glenn still stayed in touch with me even after Charles passed.  He was a loving and generous friend and will be missed.  Marsha I pray God will wrap His arms around you and give you peace and comfort at this very sad time. Love Dawn.



Some of Glenn and I most favorite times were trips to Lake  Anna fish and camping.  Night fishing was a little scary but he always said  he knew exactly where we were headed... flying across the water in his boat.  My sons loved enjoyed going on the trips with him as his cooking was a lot better than mine.  We all learned how good leftover baked potatoes are fried up the next morning for breakfast.

He was a son of the late Russell B. Sr. and Elizabeth “Betty” (Lucas) Dean.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gayle Garber.


Survivors include his wife, Marsha (Baylor) Dean; son, John Dean of Waynesboro; daughter, Kelly Dean and her husband, James Ford-Flemming of Haymarket; brother, Russ Dean and his wife, Kim of Stuarts Draft; two sisters, Jeanie Patton of Stuarts Draft, Mary Sue Dean of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Devan Dean and Alice Ford.
