

He was born November 15, 1941 in Waynesboro, Virginia to Harry F. Davis, Sr. and Dorothy Roadcap Davis Callison.
He retired from Plumber and Steamfitters, Local 10, Richmond, Virginia and was member of Zion Lutheran Church.
He was a U S Navy Veteran, having served on board the USS Forrestal.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Betty Tisdale.
Survivors include his mother, his wife, Janice Davis, four brothers and their wives, Eddie and Judy Davis of Grottoes, Virginia, Jimmy and Sherry Davis of Clarksville, Tennessee, Joe and Diane Davis of Chester, Virginia, and Bobby and Debbie Davis of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, a sister, Margaret Ann Davis of Port Republic, three daughters and their husbands; Candy and Bob Woodruff of Crimora, Virginia, Sherri and Dallas Rittenhouse of Grottoes, Virginia, Ginger and Ray Campbell of Elkton, Virginia, a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, and his “fur baby” Scooter.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Randy Blankenship officiating.
A private family burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 340. They will also serve as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the residence of his daughter, Sherri Rittenhouse, 458 Horsehead Road, Grottoes, Virginia at anytime.
The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate care given by the doctors and nurses at the McGuire Veterans Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a SPCA of your choice.
