

Helen was born September 13, 1912 in Augusta County. She was the daughter of James F & Viola (Baber) Alford. Mrs. Beardsworth was a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. Her employment history includes Crompton, DuPont, and Wilson Trucking Company where she retired after 40 years of devoted service in 1998.
Bea was an excellent seamstress and her talents were many including knitting, gardening and cooking. She is well known for making hundreds of handmade Christmas ornaments, cross stitch & crewel embroidery prints.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Richard Casey Beardworth, her only son Richard Casey Beardsworth Jr., brothers Herbert R. (Bud) Alford & wife Catherine of Waynesboro, Roy W. Alford & wife Lois, of Richmond and childhood sister Elva V Alford, nephew Roy W (Skip) Alford, Jr and grandson in-law Ren Morris.
Survivors include sister Norma L (Bunny) Alford of Waynesboro, Grandson Richard Casey Beardsworth III of Odenton, Maryland, great-grandson Owen Richard Beardsworth also of Odenton, Maryland, Granddaughter Donna Jo (Beardsworth) Morris of Richmond, daughter in-law Donna B Beardsworth of Waynesboro.
Niece Alois Rae Alford Ellis & husband Jack of Richmond, nephews Thomas Dell Alford & wife Lynn of Richmond, Robert Page Alford & wife Sharon of Virginia Beach. Great nieces include Brooke Ellis Hull & husband Rick of Henagar Alabama, Kristen Ellis Burton & husband Glenn of Richmond, Shannon Ellis-Denvil & Jay Ellis, both of Richmond. Joshua Alford, William Alford & Carly Alford, all of Richmond, Matthew & Preston Alford of Virginia Beach, great-great nieces & nephews, Rebecca, Jessica, Anna Catherine, Lauren, Aiden, Gavin, Eliza & Rosslyn.
Active pallbearers will be Richard C Beardsworth III, Jack Ellis, Tom Alford, Bob Alford, Jay Ellis, Lyle Palmer, Bill Lambert & Jeff Lakotos.
Honorary pallbearers will be Delphia Wright Circle and Wilson Trucking Co-workers.
Bea leaves behind countless faithful friends who showed their love, compassion & devotion to her through many acts of kindness. Additionally, the family would like to express their sincere appreciation & heartfelt thanks to all staff members at the Waynesboro Manor.
The Family will receive visitors from 7pm – 9pm on Monday June 4, 2012 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home, 618 Main Street Waynesboro. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday June 5th at Waynesboro Church of the Brethren with Pastor Todd Crowder officiating. Burial will be at Augusta Memorial Park.
