Helen Louise (Knott) Morris

Helen Louise (Knott) Morris, 91, of Staunton passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Accordius Health at Waynesboro. Born February 9, 1928 in Swoope, Va, she was the daughter of the late James Harvey and Mary Margaret (Moats) Knott. Helen was a member of Destiny Family Center, Stuarts Draft. Prior to retirement, she employed by the American Red Cross for over 25 years. In earlier years, Helen enjoyed listening to music and loved to go dancing with her husband. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Morris; an infant son; son, John Morris; three brothers; seven sisters; and one stepsister. Survivors include her two children, Brenda Kay (Morris) Stebbins and husband, Bill of Shelby, NC and Donnie Morris and wife, Kathy of Amherst, Va; daughter-in-law, Betty Morris of Haymarket, Va; brother-in-law, Jim Crapp of Stuarts Draft, Va; grandchildren, Robert Moffett and wife, Sara, Jason Morris and wife, Chastity, Kim Ivers and husband, Eric, Melissa Tooley, and David Moffett and wife, Michelle; great-grandchildren, Robert Moffett, Jr., Taylor Moffett, Skylar, Graham, and Oliva Morris, Mia and Hannah Small, Lewis and McKinley Thacker, and David, Jr. and Kaleigh Moffett; as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Pleasant View Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2733 Spring Hill Road, Staunton with Pastor Larry Closter officiating. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 355 Rio Road West, Suite 102, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
