

Henry Ford Rodgers, 87, of Staunton, went home to be with the Lord on, November 29, 2011 at the Shenandoah Hospice House. Born February 7, 1924 in Rockingham County, son of the late Robert N. Rodgers, Sr. and Lillie M. (Minter) Rodgers.
Mr. Rodgers was a faithful member of Reformed Baptist Church of Staunton. He worked at Western State for 16 years. He was an engraver for H.L. Langs Jewelry for 35 years. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with family, music and inventing things. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ellen; son, Allen Patterson. Survivors include his children, James E. Rodgers(Lorraine), Rachel Johns(David), Cindy Skaggs(Lee), Sarah Smith(Michael) and Janice Mowbray; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Doris Jerome; sister-in-law, Rita Rodgers; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 2, 2011 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main Street, with Pastor Thomas Schullery and Rev. Dr. Howard Newman officiating. Burial will follow at Spaders Church Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the funeral home.
