He was born March 27, 1959 in Pittsburgh, PA., a son of the late Howard Hays and Margot Maryn.
He was a member of the Waynesboro Mennonite Church and was a driver for Shenandoah Shuttle Service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his foster sister, Jan.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia E. Hays, step-father, Nat Maryn and his wife Babrbar of Maryland, step-mother, Joan Hays of Florida, a son, Ian Hays of Stuarts Draft, a daughter, Emily Hays of Stuarts Draft, four brothers, Howard Hays of Maryland, Micah Maryn of Leesburg, Byrne Maryn of Maryland and Peter Hays of Illinois.
Following cremation, a Celebration of Service will be held at a later date at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
