

Born March 6, 1932 in Waynesboro, she was a daughter of the late Kermit Moore and Phyllis Lafferty Moore Saye.
Isabelle’s greatest joy in life was her children and her family. Due to her health in recent years she was unable to attend church but loved watching Rev. Charles Stanley every Sunday morning. Each year beginning in January she would read her bible from cover to cover. She enjoyed reading, gardening (she got her green thumb from her grandmother, Cornellia), traveling, cooking and sewing.
Survivors include her loving husband of her lifetime, Clarence Shifflett, whom she married November 1, 1968; daughter, Deborah K. Presley of Greenville; son, Thomas Lee Hevener, Jr. and wife, Betty of Waynesboro; daughter, Catana Ferrier and husband, Ritchie of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Derril Wikel and fiancee, Brenda, Melissa Sprague and husband, Michael, Lisa Marie Shiflett and husband, Jimmy; step-grandchildren, Wanda Fitzgerald, Megan Miller and husband, Vernon, Rod Ferrier and wife, Patricia; great grandchildren, Morgan Marion and husband, Wesley and Tessa Sprague; step great grandchildren, Brittany and Justin Hevener, Cierra, Cheyenne, Ian and Dylan Ferrier, Kylee, Ashlyn, Nicole and Beckah Miller; and great-great granddaughter, Olivia Marion; cousins who have always been a special part of her life, Ronnie and Wanda Lafferty and family, Ellis Lafferty and family and Janet Brown and family all of Tennessee; numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and their families; sister, Christine Wells and family.
Isabelle was raised and preceded in death by her grandparents, Ellis “Bud” and Cornellia Stogdale “Knellie” Lafferty; an infant son; and infant granddaughter, Alicia Kay Presley.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Troy Shifflett officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home no later than 9:15 a.m. on Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
