

He was born August 26, 1942, in Charlotte, North Carolina, a son of the late James Aubrey and Betty Lula Lee Wells.
He was a United States Army Veteran, attended Fishersville Baptist Church, and retired from Wilson Trucking after 39 years of service as terminal manager.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brett Falls, and a much loved aunts and uncles, Rufus E. and Clara Lee Johnson, and George T. Dorothy Clark Lee.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca (Becky) Wells, step-mother, Betty Lou Wells, of Boone, NC, daughter, Lanette Sykes and husband Spencer of Fishersville, son, Chris Wells, a sister, Carolyn Carnes of Sarasota, FL, three half-sisters, Marla Dorsett, Laura Saeger, Kitty Wells, and a half-brother, Wayne Wells, three grandchildren, Jensen Hite, Allison Sykes, Peyton Sykes, and two special nieces, Kristen Halton and Kelly Tarlton.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday May 16, 2012 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by Pastor John Hamric. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park with military rites provided by American Legion Post 340.
Active pallbearers will be Tony Simonetti, Jerry Phillips, Donnie Houser, Bill Jones, Eric Hicklin and Jim Clark, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kim and Judy Stone, Steve and Beth Brady, Carol Brown, Yvonne Simmons and Debbie Roberson.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the funeral home.
