Jean Louise (Harte) Seaton Gregory

Jean Louise Gregory, 90, of Staunton, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Brightview at Baldwin Park. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on July 6,1927, the daughter of late L. Bret Harte and Sarah Eva (Gray) Harte, both of San Diego, Calif. A lifelong artist, she was the wife of the late Charles Herbert Seaton and the late Joe W. Gregory. She lived in San Diego County, Calif. from 1951 until 2011, where she raised five surviving children, Charles Bret Seaton of San Diego, Gary Bruce Seaton of Newport Beach, Carl Evan Seaton of San Marcos, Scott Montgomery Seaton of Waynesboro, Va., and Lauren Eve Montgomery of Santa Monica. She was also preceded in death by a step-son, David Gregory of San Diego. She had ten grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Falck, James Dylan Seaton, Charles Andrew Seaton, Joscelyn Eva (Seaton) Hodge, Phillip Barlow Seaton, Sophia Hero Stills, Samuel Alexander Seaton, Ava Noelle Jubilee Stills, Daniel Wesley Seaton, and Isabella Grace Montgomery; three step-grandchildren, April Currier, Robert Gregory, and Ben Gregory; and three great-grandchildren. In San Diego, she was a member of National Society DAR, Crown Colony chapter of the Colonial Dames, Children’s Home Society, Forest Home Auxiliary and was an active in the Presbyterian Church throughout her life. A private service will be held in San Diego, Calif. at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January,12, 2018, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
