He was born on May 9, 1937 at his family home to the late Thomas Glenn and Nellie Mae (Vess) Fisher.
Jessie retired from the Augusta County School Board with over 35 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Sue Fisher and three sisters, Angenetta Gibson, Ruby Johnson and Izetta Johnson.
Survivors include two sons, Tommy Fisher, Ricky Fisher and his wife, Lynn; two daughters, Lisa Fisher and her husband, Jay, and Connie Kaugher; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Rev. Merle Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Ricky Fisher, Jeremy Fisher, Randy VanDevander, Mathew VanDevander, Jason Neese and Colter McCray.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the funeral home.
