He graduated from Nelson County High and was retired from DuPont.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his brother, Delmus and his sister, Brenda.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Pat and his children, Jared Mayo, Courtney Mayo, Patrick Critzer and wife, Freedom Duff , and Ashley Critzer and husband Mark Phillips; two grandchildren, Lucas Critzer and Addy Campbell. He is also survived by siblings, Elsie, Billy, Danny, Debbie, and Linda and their families; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, who were like family.
Family will receive friends Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm. Please feel free to bring any pictures of Johnny that you may have and share your memories with us. A family memorial service will be held at a later date to return Johnny's ashes to his much loved Nelson County.
