John William Shade

John was born to Marlin Clair Shade, Sr. and Katherine Ann Shade on October 23, 1950.

He worked in food service for Waynesboro Community Hospital for 15 years. John had a deep love for his family, and also for a good game of bingo. John had a big heart and never met a stranger. He was a member of the Augusta County Eagles 4129 and Waynesboro Moose 1309.

John was preceded in death by his father, Marlin; as well as a sister, Wanda Hailey.

John is survived by his brother, Marlin Shade, Jr. of Waynesboro; sisters, Judy Chandler of Stuarts Draft and Mary Shade of Waynesboro; nieces, Amber Morris, Keely Davis, Devin McDonaldson, and Kandi Harner; nephews, Eric Shade and Matthew Vance; as well as great nieces and nephews, Trevor and Hailey McDonaldson, Keegan Davis, Kinslee Morris and Mayzee Gilespie.

A family night and celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with Pastor Dave Kite officiating.
