

Kenneth Ray “Kenney” Hutchens, 57, of Waynesboro, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Augusta Health surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 5, 1959 in Charlottesville, a son of Ronnie L. and Ann H. Hutchens.
Kenney was a graduate of Waynesboro High School Class of 1977.He retired from Mohawk in 2006. Kenney greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all working on his vehicles. He was also an artist, who loved sketching and drawing wildlife, especially wolves.
Kenney was preceded in death by his father, maternal and paternal grandparents. In addition to his mother, survivors include his aunts & uncles, Lynwood and Sandy Hutchens, Gloria and Bud Carter, Susie and Fred Whiting, Janie and Bob Shumate; as well as numerous cousins and extended family. Kenney also leaves behind his special friend, Troy Hagwood, who was like a brother to him, and special friends, Walter Batman and Clay Steagall; He also will be greatly missed by his furry friend Prince.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Wayside Baptist Church, 45 Turk Mountain Lane, Waynesboro, with Pastors Jerry Cline and Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
Active Pallbearers will be Bud Carter, Fred Whiting, Tony Carter, Troy Hagwood, Lynwood Hutchens and Robby Hutchens. Honorary Pallbearers will be his cousins and extended family.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 9, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
Memorial donations may be made to Wayside Baptist Church in Kenney’s memory.
The family extends a heartfelt appreciation to the staff at the Dialysis Center at Augusta Health and to the many doctors and nurses who attended to Kenney’s needs and Augusta Health and UVA.
