He was born March 19, 1968 in Waynesboro, the son of Vonda (Hottinger) Quick and the late Ronnie Wayne Quick.
Growing up, Kevin attended Nelson County Schools and was a member of the 1986 graduating class of Nelson County High. Following graduation, he attended Eastern Mennonite University where he obtained a degree in Business Administration. In 1990 he joined the Waynesboro Police Reserves and had been an active volunteer for the last 24 years and had risen to the rank of Captain. He had been employed with Invista for the last 18 ½ years where he worked as a supervisor. As a faithful employee of Invista, Kevin served as part of the volunteer fire brigade with the company. He attended Hebron Baptist Church, Afton and Covenant Church, Charlottesville. He came to know his greatest love five months ago with the birth of his daughter, Gabriella Rose who he was so very proud of. One of Kevin’s enjoyments in life was watching and attending any sporting event by the University of Virginia. In addition to UVA sporting events, he enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews play sports and family beach trips to Nags Head. Those who knew him will miss his smile, his willingness to care for those around him and his sense of love for life.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Willard and Frances Hottinger of Waynesboro and paternal grandparents, Glennie and Katherine Quick of Afton; and uncle, James C. Quick.
Kevin is survived by his mother, Vonda Quick; wife, Shannon Rogers-Quick; brothers, Glenn Quick and wife, Kristie and Jason Quick and wife, Sara; daughter, Gabriella Rose Valencia-Quick; and many close family members and friends.
