Linda Patterson

Linda was born in Waynesboro, Virginia, a daughter of the late Walter Lee Pannell and Mildred Myrtle (Critzer) Smith.

She was a hairdresser in the Waynesboro area for many years and attended Good Sheppard Church of the Nazarene in Stuarts Draft. She enjoyed planning and hosting family gatherings where she was the life of the party.

Linda (MawMaw) brought her love of her family and positive attitude to every aspect of her life. She attended and supported her grandchildren and great grandchildren in all of their activities.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Dawn Patterson; sister, Betty Deaderick; and her step-father, Homer Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Patterson; her son, Chad Patterson of Amherst; her daughter, Denise M. Stewart and husband, Shan of Stuarts Draft; her brother, Kenny Pannell and wife, Ruth of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Kyle Mawyer and wife, Heather, Emmalee Stewart and Jacob, Dirk Lee Stewart, Colton James Stewart, Payton Grace Patterson; great grandchildren, Octavia Taylor, Aralynne Grace Mawyer, Ramona Brogan, Weston Scott Mawyer; a very special niece, Amy Pannell; nephew, Kevin Early and wife, Jill; co-workers Dolly Magione and Nicole Robertson.

Following cremation, a celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro with Pastor Amy Pannell officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
