Louise Fox

Louise Thelma (Grant) Fox, 87, of Lyndhurst passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Waynesboro Manor. She was born April 10, 1929 in Montebello, a daughter of the late Nevit Ware and Thelma Cash Grant.

Louise was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church. She retired as a LPN with Western State Hospital and Waynesboro Community Hospital. Louise loved people, nursing and traveling; she never knew a stranger and her family was very special to her. She was an avid country music fan and collector of dolls.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin E. Fox; sister, Shirley Ann (Grant) Thacker; brother, William Ware Grant and brother-in-law, Delmar Thacker.

Survivors include her sons, Thomas E. Fox and wife, Mary of Lyndhurst, Larry Wayne Fox and wife, Debra of Stuarts Draft; grandchildren, Randy Fox and wife, Anna, Terry Fox and wife, Jennifer, Shannon Fox, Kimberly Hamilton and husband, Stacey, Michelle Fox and Michael Fisher and wife, Diane; great grandchildren, Taylor Fox, Caleb Fox, Brandon Fox, Jordan Fox, Michael Dawson, Cody Dawson, Kiam Fox and Lily Fox; a special sister-in-law, Helga Grant and brother-in-law, Earl Fox and wife, Mary; as well as numerous extended family. Louise also leaves behind her beloved church family and special friends from their “Lunch Club.”, Esther Bracy, Gail Ried and Wilbur Summers.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Vivian M. Utz officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Louise’s memory to her beloved church, Oak Hill United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 317 Lyndhurst, VA 22952.
