 Obituario de Marjorie (Burr) Cooper
Marjorie Ruth ( Burr) Cooper, 92, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Marjorie was born in Medford, MA to her beloved parents, the late Florence and Harold Burr on July 9, 1926. She spent many summers and Christmases as a young child traveling back to her mother’s home in Nova Scotia. She graduated from Medford High School. She married Harold H. Cooper, Jr. on May 29, 1948 in Medford, MA. Marjorie and Harry got to see many parts of the country, as Harry was transferred to seven different states during his employment with W.R. Grace/Cryovac. She was an active member of a Main St. United Methodist Church circle and enjoyed attending the Woman’s Club with friends, while a resident of Waynesboro, VA. She also enjoyed attending UVA sporting events with her husband, Harry, and many other residents of Waynesboro. Marjorie loved to read and would often read newspaper articles about her grandchildren’s colleges. Sometimes she would know more about the news on the campus then the grandchildren did. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Rollins Burr, who died shortly after birth, and her husband, Harry Cooper. Marjorie is survived by her son, Scott Cooper and daughter-in-law, Sherrie of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Carol Cooper of Winston-Salem, NC. Also surviving, are her beloved grandchildren, William Cooper of Farmington, CT, Caitlin Cooper of Brooklyn, NY and Molly Cooper of Durham, NC. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2 PM on Sunday, November 11, 2018 in the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes at 618 W. Main Street, Waynesboro, VA. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1 PM prior to the service. Marjorie lived with Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 60 years, which didn’t keep her down. She enjoyed gardening and crafts despite those limitations. Memorials may be given to the Arthritis Foundation online by visiting www.arthritis.org. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff members at Arbor Acres Retirement Community in Winston -Salem for their loving care of Marjorie over the past six years. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
