Mary Jane Kern

Mary Jane Kern, 79, of Waynesboro passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Augusta Nursing and Rehab Center. Born March 11, 1935, in Hinton, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Opal and Otis James Meadows. Mary Jane was a member of Wayne Hill United Methodist Church. She was employed for many years with General Electric.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Davie Lee Kern and her son, David Wayne Kern. She is survived by her son, Daryl Kern; a son, James Kern and his wife, Angela; a brother, James Meadows; a brother-in-law, Ernest “Pete” Kern; a sister-in-law, Virginia Hilleren; as well as numerous family members. She will be missed by her cats, Lil Bit and Tayla.

A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes in Waynesboro with Reverend Clayton Payne officiating. Family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m., an hour prior to service at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes in Waynesboro. Burial to follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Mary Jane’s special friend, Maria Adams and the Unit 3 nursing staff at Augusta Nursing and Rehab Center.
