Michael Scott Phillips

On Saturday, November 24, 2018 we lost our precious Michael Scott Phillips who is now safe in the arms of our Heavenly Father. He was born November 27, 1991 in Charlottesville, Va. Michael loved to create artwork and was very talented at drawing. Being creative, those who knew him knew how much he enjoyed tinkering with tools or wood to create something special. He also cared for animals especially the fluffy ones. Michael had a huge heart and dearly loved his family. He will be remembered as a precious loving son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, George Mynes and his paternal grandfather and grandmother, Buck and Rosie Phillips. Survivors include his mother, Rhonda Phillips Delicath and husband, Mike of Stuarts Draft; father, Robert Phillips and wife, Sherrin of Roanoke; best friend & sister, Crista Barker and husband, Allen; his very special niece, Serenity Hamric; doting maternal grandmother, Bertha Mynes; loving “Auntie”, Fonda Hamric and husband, John of Stuarts Draft; treasured great uncle, Alton Pannel; and devoted cousins, Austin Hamric, Betty Guyer and husband, Chris, Mary Pannel, and Jacob Pannel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Sherlynd Baptist Church, 20 Winterview Lane, Lyndhurst. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the church with Pastor Allen George officiating. Burial will follow in Sherando United Methodist Church Cemetery.
