Nancy Lucille Powell

She was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on July 12, 1934, a daughter of the late James A. Sr., and Lucille (Carver) Hunt.

Nancy retired as a switchboard operator with Erie Insurance Company in Waynesboro.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James A. Hunt, Jr.

Survivors in addition to her husband are two sons, Jonathan Scott Powell and wife Jill of Los Angeles, CA., Chester C. “Chet” Powell, Jr. and his companion Carrie Pennington of Stuarts Draft; daughter, Melissa Anne Powell and companion Thomas V. Ginise, Jr. of Fishersville; two grandchildren, Jonathan “Sky” S. Powell and wife Kiley, Emeli Ragland and companion Nick Corey.

She also leaves her K-9 companions Missy Ragland and Echo.

Following cremation a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Darrell Via officiating. Those wishing to attend the service may meet directly at the cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes and Crematory.
