Mr. Collins was born on September 15, 1941 in Staunton, and was a son of the late Harry Franklin and Mary Belle (Gwin) Collins. He worked for more than 40 years as a self-employed brick mason. Raymond loved hunting and fishing and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed going to auctions. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with family and friends. Raymond was a former member of the Staunton Moose and Eagles. Mr. Collins wanted everyone to cherish their memories and love your loved ones while you have the chance.
On August 31, 1968 he married the former Judy Marie Hoy, who survives.
He is also survived by his siblings, Thelma Campbell of Goshen, Barbara McDorman of Staunton, Gary “Skip” Collins and wife Linda of Waynesboro.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death a brother, Jerry Collins; and brothers in law, Johnny Campbell and Robert McDorman.
At Mr. Collins’ request, his body will be cremated and there will be no services or visitation.
